S1 - 42 | Avoiding Data Catastrophes with Salma Bakouk

If data means $$$ we want to detect data issues before they turn into costly mistakes. But being aware of issues isn’t enough. We need to know why things break so that we can fix them quickly (emphasis on quickly). Today I learn about data observability with my guestSalma Bakouk CEO and co-founder ofSifflet a full-stack data observability platform. We talk about:

1. three pillars of data observability

2. how bad data leads to erosion of#trust

3. when is the right time to test data models

4. why observability must be end-to-end

Salma has an engineering degree in applied mathematics from the École Centrale Paris. Before Sifflet she was leading key data initiatives in the sales and trading division of one of the largest US banks.Salma spent countless hours on the trading floor trying to turn data into money. There she learned that knowing when a data pipeline is about to break is super valuable. By the end of this one you’ll know why data observability matters, how to talk about it and what to look for.

I'd like to thankSifflet for making this episode of Discovering Data possible.
