I am the creator of discoveringdata.com my personal journey to master the mindset, skills, and strategies of the most successful data leaders.

After leaving the academic world I joined a tech startup as a data scientist (first data hire) where I had to find creative ways to deliver results while controlling technical debt. After a few easy wins I slowly built a team and worked on making data easy to access and to use.

For a while I thought I wanted to become a consultant and help other companies avoid common pitfalls in analytics and gain an edge. But as it turns out, I was on a much bigger journey and I could not live my purpose as a contractor. I wanted to understand how to create a data-driven culture, how to talk to biz leaders and secure funding, how to create agile teams that deliver tangible benefits and that go ahead to transform the way we do business. This is how this podcast was born.

2023 was a big year for me and for my family and when my second child was born I needed to take a break. In a random sequence of events, I was introduced to the amazing world of Mars Inc where I started as a business engineer for one of their manufacturing plants in regional NSW. A year lated an opportunity opened up to take the role of Digital Transformation Manager and lead a diverse team of incredible people that want to improve the way we do business.

I guess you could say that I am a data leader that understands challenges and opportunities at each stage of the data value chain, from networks and cyber security, to ingestion, modelling, consumption and action. I can talk to a general manager, a factory operator and everyone in between.

The Discovering Data podcast is a journey of learning, self-discovery, and mastery. It’s where I help others transform organisations and live their full potential, and in the process become unstoppable.
